Wow! November just flew by and we are very
busy at pre-school. Thank you for
your generous donations to the Open Hands Food Pantry! Cedar Hills Community Church is very
passionate about this outreach ministry. Before the flood the pantry helped 20-25
families per month. Since the flood,
they help over 250 families a month!
Donations are welcome anytime of the year. Also thank you to everyone who has driven
on our field trips! We couldn’t do
it without you and we are very grateful.
We have been lucky so far that
the weather hasn’t been bad. Soon
the snow will be falling and here are a few reminders. When bad weather occurs, please listen to
the television or radio and if the Cedar Rapids Public Schools are
closing for that day, we will be too! You will NOT get a phone call
regarding that. We will have AM pre-school even if CR schools have a delay. We will chalk two snow days up to 'living
in Iowa' but if there are more than two snow days we will adjust tuition in
May. We will post cancellations on
the website too! Go to www.chccrca.org , click on Noah's Ark Preschool,
and then click on the announcements.
With Christmas approaching
quickly, some families like to get a personal gift for their teachers. The teachers and I would like to suggest
something to benefit preschool instead.
We will be posting wish list items again this year in the vestibule
on the bulletin board (starting in Dec). We are a non-profit organization
so any donation is tax deducible.
Please know that this is optional for every family.
Tax season will soon be upon us
and may families will need Noah's Ark federal tax ID number. Our number is 42 148 0967.
PLEASE look closely at the
calendar on the other side of this note for important dates to
remember. Again, if your child’s
name is listed on a date, it means that it is their snack day. Thanks for your contributions so far. They are greatly appreciated! Please also note the number of students
on the calendar; some classes have added new students.
We also have included the
'Letter of the Week' on the calendar for the older classes. The students are so excited to bring in
their 'homework'. Thanks for all the
effort at home. Homework can be sent
any time during that letter week.
Each
class will act out the first Christmas.
It is listed on your calendar as 'Away in a Manger' program as well
as the time it begins. Families and
friends are invited to watch this very low key presentation to be
held in the sanctuary.
Another important note: The last day of school for the year will
be December 23rd. Classes will
resume the week on January 5th.
Enjoy this special time with family and friends.
Have a safe
and blessed holiday season!
