Cedar Hills Community Church serves a diverse community of worshipers. Our two services are different in appearance and sound, but we are reminded often of our unity in Christ. It is out of the love of Jesus, our gratitude to his love for us, that we are united in our faith in Christ and our desire to serve and worship Him.

The Worship Core Teams are reflective of our diversity. We pray you will find a place to serve and grow among us!

Atmosphere Team : Kathy Newell & Jonna Tellinghuisen

Enhance the worship experience by providing creative atmosphere, props, decorations, and worship visuals that strengthen the theme of the pastor’s message and holiday services. This team is both for those who are artistic, like to work with cloth, colors, paints or those who like to build or work with wood and building materials.

Technology Team : Andy Drzycimski

Provides technology for worship services by serving in three sub-teams:

Team Leaders: Coordinate team training, scheduling and recruitment.

Service Coordinators: Lead and oversee the operators during weekly practices and services in a rotation.

Technology Operators: Operate a specific station including audio, video, or nursery camera for weekly practices and worship services.

Sacraments Team : Dee Williamson, Joan Walton

Assist the Elders in preparing for the distribution of the Lord’s Supper. supply the bread and juice, and prepare the elements and communion table.

Drama Team : Lois Deerberg, Gary Mills

Communicate and express the Lord’s ministry and message through acting, directing, costuming, dance, set construction, or writing for worship and special events. All ages are welcome to participate.

Worship Team Leaders and Musicians : Leah Van Maaren

For those gifted in both musical and worship leadership. Those with abilities in bass, guitar, keyboard, piano, drums, and other instruments are encouraged to consider playing for a worship team to lead the congregation in musical worship. Ability to play from chord charts and by ear highly recommended. Group leaders are in charge of leading rehearsals, choosing music, and spiritual care of their group.

Choir : Randy Whitehead

Open to men and women aged high school through adult. Some knowledge of music required and reading ability preferred but not essential. The mixed choir sings the first and third Sundays in the Sanctuary service, and the men’s and women’s groups both once a month. Rehearses every Wednesday night from 6:30-7:15pm.

Sovereign Sound Bell Choir : Director need—Interested?

The CHCC Bell Choir is open to adults and high school students. Members should be able to read music and commit to weekly (but relaxed) rehearsals for monthly church performances. The Bell Choir rehearses Monday nights at 7pm.

Accompanists : Leah Van Maaren

Those who are well-trained on the piano, keyboard, or organ are encouraged to be an accompanist for congregational singing or special music during the worship services and other events.

Children’s Worship : Marlee Ellis

A program that teaches the children the sacredness of worship at a level they understand. Children are dismissed to children’s worship generally near the beginning of the Sanctuary service after the Children’s Sermon.

Celebrate Programming Team : Leader needed—Interested?

For those with a creative side who think outside the box, this team brainstorms and implements the artistic elements of worship, including drama, music, atmosphere, videos, and service orders. Or if you’re a ‘do-er’ rather than a ‘dreamer’, this team needs many who can take the creative ideas and put them into action.
